This version of Up On The Sun is easily the best live version out there, despite them being sloppy with it. The harmonies on the chorus, Curt doing the improvised faint vocals on the bridge and hitting the escalating high note on "maybe we got something to talk about". All other live versions dont get the tempo right like this one does. Just imperfect perfection Also this video makes it seem like Up On The Sun is played after the opening Sea of Love when its actually way later in the setlist right before the rest of the covers. The crowd was conpletely warmed up by this point

I saw them about month before this show, this was pretty much the way they sound then. I've been a huge fan ever since. This was when Meat Puppets II came out.

I love this show. I like their sort of tongue-in-cheek demeanor. That magic toy missing right into enchanted porkfist is pretty killer

I saw a show of theirs in NYC the year after this, and was stupefied to observe Curt Kirkwood using a U.S. quarter as a guitar pick. How badass can you get?
